Buddhism and Psychological Wellbeing 101
In addition to being a religion and philosophy, Buddhism is also regarded as a school of psychology that offers practical guidance on how to live a life with reduced suffering. This short course aims to introduce participants to the core teachings of Buddhism in an accessible manner, utilizing straightforward language, relatable examples, and contemplative exercises. Consisting of six classes and a half-day workshop, the course also provides participants with a practical understanding of various forms of mindfulness practices within Buddhism. It is tailored for individuals encountering various life challenges and seeking insights from a Buddhist standpoint. For example, the course addresses topics on love and relationship, family conflicts, work related stress, meaning of life, how to cope with emotions, sickness, life and dying, and ways to live a reasonable happy life.
